50 Top Pizza Europa 2024: Napoli on the Road is the Best Pizzeria in Europe for 2024
In second place is Sartoria Panatieri in Barcelona. The third step on the podium has gone to Via Toledo Enopizzeria in Vienna.
The exciting evening event was presented in Madrid by Verónica Zumalacárregui during which the best pizzerias in the Old Continent, excluding Italy, were recognized.
Napoli on the Road, in London, is the best pizzeria in Europe for 2024. This is the verdict according to the most influential guide in the pizza world, 50 Top Pizza. The news was announced yesterday evening at the Fundación Pablo VI in Madrid during a heavily followed awards ceremony broadcast live over the network’s social media channels and presented by the Spanish journalist and influencer Verónica Zumalacárregui. It was an important achievement for Michele Pascarella’s pizzeria, which had already brought home the Pizza Maker of the Year in the World award in 2023.
In second place is Sartoria Panatieri in Barcelona, owned by Rafa Panatieri and Jorge Sastre, who conceded the top spot of best pizzeria in Europe after their victory last year. Third place went to Via Toledo Enopizzeria in Vienna by Francesco Calò, who also captured the Pizza of the Year 2024 – Latteria Sorrentina Award with their Nero di Marinara.
For fourth place we return to London with 50 Kalò by Ciro Salvo. Fifth place went to Baldoria in Madrid, a pizzeria by Ciro Cristiano who also took home the special Best Pasta Proposal 2024 – Pastificio Di Martino Award. Sixth position went to the German Pizza Zulu in Fürth by Gaspare Squitieri; seventh position went to IMperfetto in Puteaux, France. It is managed by Simone Lombardi and by pizza maker Tonino Cogliano, who also won the Pizza Maker of the Year 2024 – Ferrarelle Award. Eighth position went to nNea by Vincenzo Onnembo in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Ninth position instead leads us back to Spain, to Barcelona to La Balmesina by Massimo Morbi and Alessandro Zangrossi. We stay in Spain, this time in Madrid, for the tenth position which goes to Fratelli Figurato, managed by Riccardo and Vittorio Figurato.
Among the other special awards, the New Entry of the Year 2024 – Solania Award which went to Stile Napoletano in Chester, England. The Best Fried Food 2024 – Il Fritturista – Oleificio Zucchi Award was awarded to Zielona Górka in Pabianice, Poland. The Performance of the Year 2024 – Robo Award was taken home by Franko’s Pizza & Bar in Zagreb, Croatia. The Best Dessert List 2024 – Cremoso – La Dispensa Award went to Forno d’Oro in Lisbon, Portugal. The Best Beer Service 2024 – Peroni Nastro Azzurro Award was given to Matto Napoletano in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia. The Made in Italy 2024 – Mammafiore Award has gone to Little Pyg in Dublin, Ireland. Finally, the One to Watch 2024 went to Gasparic in Girona, Spain.
The Green Oven 2024 – Goeldlin award which recognizes pizzerias who have environmentally sustainable practices, was awarded to three pizzerias: Sartoria Panatieri, in Barcelona, Bæst, in Copenhagen and MO de Movimiento, in Madrid.
The most represented country in the guide is Spain with 39 pizzerias. It is followed by France with 21 and Germany with 17.
“In general, the entire European quality pizza movement saw a significant push forward during the past year” underscore the 50 Top curators Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro and Albert Sapere, “which has resulted in an ever-growing European guide. This year it has 184 pizzerias. We would also like to thank the Spanish quality pizza movement which welcomed us, tourists, citizens and colleagues for an extraordinary edition of Pizza Week – Spain Edition 2024, organized in collaboration with Mammafiore, with the participation of 105 pizzerias around the country.”
The top 20 positions in the 50 Top Pizza Europa 2024 ranking enter by right into the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World. These individuals will meet again at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples on September 10th for 50 Top Pizza World 2024.
The next event for 50 Top Pizza 2024 will be held on June 25th in New York at West Edge inside Chelsea Market for the unveiling of the best pizzerias in the USA for 2024.
